no unlock will save, only flag changes will save.
don't know which bytes are the DLC ones because I own all DLC so I don't deal with that.

unlock what? for pofos you just change the unlock byte to 01. the position is the same for everyone
I'll use Austin '97 as an example of changing the status, his array is 65 00 00 00 65 00
the full array that leads to his status is:
65 00 00 00 65 00 00 00 00 00 32 1E 07 7F C5 A7 F4 83 9D 7B 7F 7D E4 8A C1 72 ED 72 98 5A 23 E8 56 96 58 0F 65 00 01
the last byte is the byte we could turn to 00 to lock him
you find the full by just going to the array (from the sheet) and select a length of 27 from there, the 27th byte is the unlock status, 01 to unlock, 00 to lock, etc.
Hello Mike, thanks for your explaining. It's been a long time since I've dealt with something like this, so it's taking me a bit longer to understand everything, but isn't the "01" in your example the 33rd byte after the end of his array?

You need to change the 39th byte counting from the start

Now I had half a success. Brock Lesnar '14 was shown in the roster with SHC tag, but as soon as I tried to play him or edit the moveset, the game crashed. Whether online or offline.

Yep, you can change the name, he's saved as a CAW, so you can't have him as part of the official roster
