Is there a way to change your overall character level?

I've been pseudo-gestalt classing by adjusting my HP every time I level multiple classes, but my cantrips and proficiency bonuses are too strong because they are tied to the overall level and not the class level.

So many pages..lol I'm trying to increase my total level cap. I know I may be over looking, but can someone point me to the post that shows this method. I'm using Zans latest CT.
